Slow Down

Although summer is slipping away more quickly than some of us would like, there are still many things to enjoy in the weeks leading up to Fall.
Monarch butterflies are beginning their incredible migration to Mexico and South America, with innumerable numbers passing through the Flint Hills.
Shorter days and evenings create vibrant sunrises and sunsets in the tallgrass prairie, while hummingbirds mesmerize us with their aerial dexterity.
A visit to Chase County provides an opportunity to slow down hectic lives long enough to enjoy the natural beauty of the Flint Hills, while re-energizing hearts, minds and spirits.
While visiting Chase County, shopping at our local businesses and eating at our fine restaurants, will bring smiles and happiness to everyone seeking a get-away from screens and phones.
Also remember to plan a tour of the 153 year old Chase County Courthouse, the oldest continuously operating courthouse in Kansas, located in beautiful downtown Cottonwood Falls. Tours of this historic building will be available this Saturday, August 29, between the hours of 12:00 Noon and 4:00 PM.
