Mitch Fest

For those of you not aware of Mitch's story......

Mitch Budke is a senior at Chase County Junior Senior High School.  He is an extremely talented multi-sport athlete and an incredible young man.  In December, Mitch had a firework accident where he sustained injuries to his hand, eye and ear.  Mitch lost three fingers and most of his thumb on the left hand, damaged his left eye and experienced hearing loss in the left ear. Surgeries and prostheses await him.

As I watched him play baseball last Thursday night, I was in awe in what he has already accomplished and I have no doubt he will continue to awe and inspire us all.  He easily could have given up on playing sports this Spring, but that just isn't Mitch. He is tough, he has grit like no other, and he is an example to us all of what can be accomplished when you refuse to let circumstances control you! author Katie Mann
